Classic Women: "The Original"

Originality has always been a characteristic of my mom though she never really tried to foster it. She's not one of those gals that deliberately plans to be individualistic, she just is and doesn't really notice. She is the Original Classic Mama and I have blogged about her many times. Why? Because there are so many wonderful things to say about her.

Today I would like to honor her for her character. A wise man once said that character was what you are when nobody is looking. The Original Classic Mama has amazing character because she is always keenly aware that though no human may be looking, her Lord has her constantly in His gaze.

To her, this watchful eye of the Lord isn't one of a God who looks down from heaven to catch his people doing wrong so He can punish them, but a Lord who looks at His beloved because He cannot look away. Her life goal is to see Him one day face to face and hear that He was pleased with her. Her eyes well up each time she thinks about that moment...that, my friends, is character.

Today I honor a woman who inspires me and I just happen to be lucky enough to call her "Mom." Happy Mother's Day you dear, dear woman. Thank you for being an example. I love you. I know you know that, but I just wanted to tell you again.
